Anthony's Endorsement/Sponsor List

So we had to put together a list endorsements and sponsors for our PR firm to pursue. I got somewhat normal list from everyone. Then our touring drummer, Anthony, sent me a list of his endorsement wants. It was a good list:

Kangaroo Cup

I have a Kangaroo cup. This magical little plastic cup is like a million dollar lottery ticket. You want to use it. You would die if you lost it. And NO ONE else better touch it. I had a dream that I dropped it and it broke. I was so furious because, of course, they were sold out in my dream. Just like they are in real life. I woke up angry and remained mildly agitated throughout the day.

I have pinpointed the issue here: I have never won anything. Never had a winning scratch off, I am terrible at poker, no winning raffle tickets, never had my name drawn for anything. So I cling to my Kangaroo cup because it is like I am winning every single time I walk into a Kangaroo. The person at the counter gives me the "go ahead and fill your cup with anything you want for free" nod and I walk with the confidence of a man that made a good investment long ago and is living off the benefits.

Three mile jog? Gatorade.
Tired? Dr. Pepper.
Beating the sweltering heat? Blue Mountain Dew Slushie.

This thing may literally save my life on this next tour. I'm probably going to drink my body weight in Gatorade.

It is summer and it is hot. If you notice our extensive tour schedule, I am about to spend the next 2 months in the hottest parts of the country. But oh the sweet victory of getting In-N-Out out in Arizona. And California. I am going to go back to my secret coastal towns on the couple days we have off. I am going to sit on the most beautiful coastline in the country and soak it all in. I am going to take all of 30 seconds to reflect on the whirlwind of weirdness and insanity that my life is being on the road all the time. I will dedicate even less time than that to whatever bland vanilla-coated dream of a life I had before this madness. Then I will sample the best wine of Northern California and not give a second thought to that.

I watched a movie tonight that I used to watch as a teenager. It had music from all my favorite Christian rock bands from the 90's. I remember watching it, trying to imagine what it would be like to live my life in a different state every night, playing music with my best friends. It looks a lot like this. Just with less cigarette smell on my clothes.

So there has been a lot of recording going on here lately. I have almost completed mixing the Paint Me Irrational album. That is going to be one slick album. I have been recording a lot of solo stuff. I just could not decide whether it would be acoustic or electronic. So I did both.

Now I am faced with a conundrum. I have too much recorded material. So I have come to a decision today. I am going to take all the "band" type songs and release a full-length album that I could possibly do live and tour on. Then, I will release an EP of electronic music. More dub-step stuff that you can dance to in a warehouse with 1,076 of your closest friends. I would like to do live performances of this too. It is not DJ stuff. I am not remixing anyone. It is my own stuff. Synth sounds built from scratch. A lot of my own samples. My own guitar, bass, and drums recorded and mangled into whatever is trickling through my brain.

That is my plan. Or part of it. I have to keep a few aces up my sleeve, but all in due time!

Stream of consciousness:

I am going to enjoy some hummus on crackers. I vacuumed my room today. I may buy 2 guitars tonight if I stay on this website long enough. I will probably sleep about 2 hours tonight. I do not know where my dog is. I just got excited when I realized I wore my retainers last night, so I do not have to wear them for a few nights. I have lost 6 lbs, due to cutting waaaaaay back on ice cream, drinking skim milk, hardcore mountain biking, and sweating like crazy at shows. At this rate, I will soon achieve my vision of my ideal body after I correct my posture. And find a way to freeze off all my moles. I notice I see music colors more clearly when I am exhausted after a couple nights with no sleep. I am tired of evicting people and am stoked to get my new tenants moved in on Monday. I think the color cartridge for my printer is out. I crave Fruity Pebbles from time to time. That is weird. I never use contractions when I write a blog or any type of formal letter or email.
