Back to life as normal. Back to anything but normal. I am so glad to be back playing shows every night. I miss the road when I'm home. I love the highway. I love state lines. I love truck stops. I love sleeping in Walmart parking lots. I love finishing every song light-headed because I took everything out on my guitar.
Today was good. I woke up still full from the insanely good nachos the bar had last night. But I have made it a game to see how cheaply I can make delicious meals. I made turkey burgers and cooked up some mustard greens. Fed 6 of us for about $7. Not too bad. We never looked more like rednecks than when there were 6 guys standing around a propane grill next to our RV in a Walmart parking lot. It is all about survival.
The show tonight was on a farm. We played in a barn and we met a ton of cool people. Overall, that was successful. We had some technical difficulties and a couple screw ups with the new tracks. I hate that stuff. I just want to load quickly, play intensely, and throw everything in the RV. It should be that easy. But it never is!
So far, the generator and A/C unit is working out well. It was still a little warm when we woke up this morning, but what can ya do? The temperature is over 100 degrees here! I did not even want coffee when I woke up because it is so hot outside. And that is saying something! I ALWAYS want coffee.
The first 2 shows were decent financially. Hopefully, we can keep that trend up. We shall see! I know this is short, but I am exhausted. Goodnight!
